A hospital porter supports patients by helping them to move around the hospital - for example, from a ward to an x-ray department. You would help them into wheelchairs or stretchers. You would also take them to appointments and bring them back. If you are looking for a community Service role, helping keep a hospital running smoothly.
To become a hospital porter (volunteer services), you will need to have a friendly and helpful manner.
You do not usually need any specific qualifications to become a hospital porter but you will need to be physically fit.
Work activities
Your duty will be:
- Transferring and escorting wheel chair and stretcher patients from Outpatient Department to different areas of hospital for assistance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age 20 to 40 yrs.
- At least Primary
- Willing to serve the SKMCH&RC patients suffering as a noble cause.
Note:
- A cash incentive of Rs. 2,500/- per month will be given.
- Discount on one meal per day.
- A certificate at the end of volunteer ship will be awarded as an acknowledgement of your services.
