Chemotherapy is the use of any drug to treat any disease. However, according to common perception, the word chemotherapy means drugs used for cancer treatment. The term is often shortened to “chemo”. Surgery and radiation therapy remove, kill, or damage cancer cells in a certain area, but chemo travels throughout the body. Chemotherapy Bays are an integral component of the Oncology Department at SKMCH&RC, playing an important role in the treatment of cancer. SKMCH&RC in Karachi will have the provision of 66 Chemo beds (23 Adults and 43 Paeds). Each chemo bed (similar to the ones at SKMCH&RC, Lahore, photographs of which are shown above) will be equipped with all necessary equipment used for the therapy.

 Recognition:

• Fixation of a lifetime dedication plaque alongside of the designated Chemo bed at SKMCH&RC, Karachi
• Placement of the name of Donor on the Founding Donor Monument to be built at SKMCH&RC, Karachi
