Mr. Ahsan Rashid was a great supporter and benefactor of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust. He was a member of our Board of Governors from the very early days of SKMCH&RC and a close personal friend of Mr. Imran Khan, in both philanthropy and later in politics. He was a very popular figure among Pakistani expatriates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was known for his compassion and generosity. Sadly, he succumbed to cancer himself towards the end of 2016.

Since 2017, the Ahsan Rashid Memorial Medal has been awarded in his memory to the highest-ranked research presented in the form of a free paper at the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Symposium.
