Digital Mammography (Tomosynthesis) Machine
Mammograms are x-ray images of the breast. They are most often used to screen for breast cancer in women who have no symptoms. Digital Tomosynthesis is a new technique which creates a 3-D image of breast using same x-rays but with much greater accuracy than a regular mammography machine. .Moreover, it uses a computer to record the picture instead of films. Using this machine a radiologist can enhance, magnify or manipulate the image for full evaluation, improving the ability to find smaller cancers. Another advantage of Digital Mammography Machine is that the image can be transferred to another digital site for immediate consultation.
