Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in joining Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) as a volunteer or intern. At SKMCH&RC, volunteers and interns play a significant role in supporting our mission to provide the highest quality of care to cancer patients.

Individuals may register to contribute their time and skills across various hospital departments on a voluntary, unpaid basis. These opportunities provide valuable exposure to a professional healthcare environment while enabling participants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.

Note: All volunteer positions are currently filled through July 30, 2026. We are still accepting applications, which will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis as new positions become available. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly. Non-Clinical / Clinical Volunteership / Pharmacy Intern / Volunteer Programme

Application Process for All Programmes

  • Applicants must have a minimum qualification of Matriculation or an equivalent qualification.
  • Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
  • Application forms are available on the hospital’s website.
  • Please submit the application form along with the following documents:
    • An updated CV
    • Completed application form        
    • A copy of your CNIC
    • One passport-sized photograph
    • A letter of recommendation
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by telephone or email.
  • HR orientation is mandatory prior to joining.
  • If a candidate wishes to rejoin in a different department, they must reapply and complete the selection process again.

Criteria for Pharmacy Interns

  • Must have completed four years of the degree programme.
  • A quiz is mandatory for pharmacy applicants.
  • A letter from the institution confirming your current status as a student (Letter of Recommendation).
  • The application process will remain the same

Criteria for Clinical Volunteership (Pre-Medical Students)

  • Minimum 80% marks in Intermediate.
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.25 or an average grade of B at high school level.
  • Biology, Chemistry and Physics are mandatory subjects at O Levels.
  • Note: Clinical volunteership will be for five days in Clinical Research, Outpatient and Ambulatory Services Department/Clinics, Basic Sciences, Pathology and Radiology.
  • The application process will remain the same.
