ETT (Exercise Tolerance Test) Machine
The Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) Machine consists of a motorized treadmill and a system for analysis of heart activity during exercise using electrocardiogram (ECG) along with measurement of pulse and blood pressure. The test lasts for about fifteen to twenty minutes.
The significance of ETT is that normal ECG may not completely rule out the possibility of a heart disease but ETT helps to detect any minute blockage of blood vessels in the heart during exercise.
ETT is especially important in cancer care as it helps to establish a baseline heart function of patients before the start of cancer treatment. This helps to detect and manage any damage to the heart.
