The Department of Anaesthetics provides expertise in the day-to-day management of patients with cancer and works closely with other specialties towards a common goal of improving the outcome of cancer treatment for patients at the hospital.
Eligibility Criteria:

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Karachi (our newly built tertiary care cancer facility), requires the services of a full-time Consultant Clinical & Radiation Oncologist in the Department of Clinical and Radiation Oncology. The main purpose of this post is to develop and strengthen the existing Clinical & Radiation Oncological services at the hospital. Site specialisation is imperative and the scope of responsibilities include clinical care, administrative responsibilities, teaching, and research. The appointed individual will be expected to provide Clinical & Radiation Oncology expertise during ongoing clinical care and management of cancer patients. The appointed individual will work in close liaison with established multidisciplinary site-specialist teams.

The individual will be expected to provide critical care expertise in the day-to-day management of cancer patients seen at the hospital.The appointee will be expected to participate in research and publish in peer-reviewed journals. He/she will also be expected to participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and ancillary staff along with the development and delivery of educational programmes for internal and external candidates. The appointee will be expected to liaise closely with surgeons and physicians in other specialties and allied staff within the Hospital. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Karachi (our newly built tertiary care cancer facility), requires the services of a full-time Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Department of Internal Medicine. The appointee will be expected to provide medical expertise in the day-to-day management of cancer patients. The primary role is to supervise and be responsible for the care of cancer patients with gastroenterological illness, and to advise colleagues in the optimal management of such illness. The individual will be expected to work with and support the established multidisciplinary site-specific teams and to be fully involved in the ongoing education, training, and research activities of the department. The appointed individual will be expected to be fully trained in both luminal and solid-organ gastroenterology and to be au fait with the latest endoscopic techniques, including, but not limited to, diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy, ERCP, enteroscopy/capsule endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound, as well as in advanced endoscopic techniques, such as EMR, ESD, EUS-FNA and so forth.

The appointee will be expected to provide medical expertise in the day-to-day management of cancer patients. The prime role of the appointee will be to supervise and be responsible for the care of cancer patients with infectious illness and to advise colleagues in the optimal management of such illnesses. It is expected that the post-holder will demonstrate excellence in the provision of all aspects of medical care for which he/she is credentialed. The successful applicant will therefore have a thorough grounding, both by training and experience, in all aspects of infectious diseases and be able to take independent clinical decisions in a skilled and effective manner. He/she will also be expected to participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and ancillary staff along with the development and delivery of educational programmes for internal and external candidates. The selected individual will work within multi-disciplinary teams and will also be responsible for teaching and training residents in internal medicine, as well as, specialty fellows in pulmonary medicine. Also required is a commitment to teaching respiratory therapists. The appointee will be expected to liaise closely with surgeons and physicians in other specialties and allied staff within the Hospital.

The Appointee will be expected to have expertise in all aspects of radiology but with specific expertise and interest in ultrasonography, cross-sectional body imaging, women-s imaging PET-CT, or interventional radiology. The individual will be expected to work with radiographers, staff, and managers to ensure that established quality assurance and quality practice guidelines and standards are maintained.
