Neuro-Navigation System

Neuronavigation systems enable neuro-surgeons to visualize and navigate the confines of the skull or vertebral column of a patient during surgery. They help to precisely track the location of the surgical instruments in relation to the skull structures, even accommodating for the brain shift that occurs during surgery. These systems help in neuro-invasive diagnostic procedures as well as in tumour resections by increasing precision and hence, improving clinical outcomes. Neuronavigation is also used by psychiatrists to accurately target TMS (Trans-Cranial Magnetic Stimulation—a procedure where magnetic fields are used to stimulate nerve cells in the brain).
