Ophthalmoscope (Indirect Laser)

Indirect Laser Ophthalmoscope (ILO) is an instrument which enables a physician to examine the interior of an eye with the help of a laser beam. An ILO can help to detect abnormalities such as tumours on the retina and lens of the eye. It does this by directing a small beam of light through the central black “window” on the frontal surface of eyeball by way of a mirrored prism. The instrument also magnifies the image for eye surgery to correct the detached retina and treatment of eye cancers.
