For the past 10 years, Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Peshawar, has been providing world-class cancer care closer to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and neighbouring areas, regardless of their ability to pay.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the hospital offers comprehensive cancer care, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, and palliative care, alongside advanced diagnostic services available to both cancer and non-cancer patients. Patients who once faced long and difficult journeys can now receive timely, specialised treatment closer to their families and support systems.
In 2019, Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Peshawar, earned the Joint Commission International (JCI)’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating compliance with its internationally recognised standards. In 2020, the hospital marked a significant milestone with the installation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first PET CT scanner, revolutionising diagnostic imaging for cancer patients in the region. The opening of the hospital has also enabled the collection of valuable population-based cancer data from the northwestern regions of Pakistan. More recently, in 2024, the hospital further strengthened its diagnostic capabilities with the installation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first 3 Tesla MRI scanner, enabling more precise and advanced imaging for cancer diagnosis.
Over the past 10 years, Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Peshawar, has provided a wide range of clinical services such as chemotherapy, radiology, surgery, and diagnostic services. During this time, the hospital has facilitated 560,000 outpatient visits and successfully delivered 160,000 chemotherapy sessions, performed 8,000 surgical procedures, conducted 150,000 radiotherapy sessions, completed 300,000 imaging studies and conducted 5 million pathology laboratory tests through our Laboratory Collection Centres.
