World Patient Safety Day 2022

World Patient Safety Day is observed annually on 17^th of September. This year, the theme selected by World Health Organization was “Medication without harm” to raise awareness about the importance of preventing medication-related harm.

To mark World Patient Safety Day 2022, our Pharmacy Department renewed commitment to promote safe medication practices to prevent and reduce medication related harm for all our patients. The Department of Pharmacy at SKMT is integrated with multi-site pharmacies of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust based in Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi. The patient-focused quality services are achieved through safe medication management. Our Pharmacy follows international health standards, which include ISO 9001-2015 and Joint Commission International (JCI). The Pharmacy residency programme at the Lahore site is the only pharmacy programme in Pakistan which is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
